Double planking consists of two layers of relatively thin planks. On Alita, the inner plank is 3/8″ thick. Planking stock is typically 1″ thick or more. It would be wasteful and expensive to plane a 1″ board down to 3/8″, so I chose to resaw the boards. The following article describes how.
